The Chicago Bears allow the fewest third down conversions in the National Football League this season. Opposing teams have successfully converted on only 19 of 80 attempts against Chicago. That 23.8% conversion rate is the lowest mark in the league.

The team posted a 34-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night. In that contest, the Bears converted on 7 of 15 third down opportunities. Seattle managed only one conversion in 11 tries. Quarterback Caleb Williams credited the group effort for the result. He noted that the belief on the field stems from the defense and special teams supporting the offense.

Defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, an All-Pro selection, has joined the roster to aid this unit. Defensive lineman Austin Booker stated that adding Simmons has opened up plays and allowed the defense to reach the quarterback more frequently. The team has sustained this defensive success throughout its 6-2 start.

On the offensive side, Chicago leads the league with 51 third down conversions. Against Seattle, the Bears went 3 for 4 on third down during their opening drive. That possession lasted 17 plays and ended with Williams throwing a one-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden. Williams attributed the success to long drive drills practiced during training camp and organized team activities.

Running back D'Andre Swift rushed for three touchdowns in the win. His 10 rushing scores this season make him the first Bears player to reach that milestone in the first eight games since 1956. Swift carried the ball 27 times for 69 yards in the road victory. Head coach Ben Johnson emphasized that Swift earned every yard, noting the difficulty of gaining ground on such attempts.

The Bears will continue their season with a 6-2 record following the win over Seattle. The team enters its next game with the league's best third down defense and offense. No further details were released regarding the schedule beyond the current standing.
