Burnham Targets 2029 Vote on EU Migration Reset
The UK Prime Minister plans to bring the issue to a vote in 2029.

The UK Prime Minister wants an honest discussion with the public about the possibility of returning to free movement with the EU.
This could be part of a new relationship with the bloc, and he has been open about his desire to revisit this relationship.
Other options he has discussed include joining the single market, which would require signing up to free movement, or being part of the customs union.
Both of these would require an element of agreeing to rules set by the EU.
The prime minister has previously ruled out the return of free movement, single market membership or a customs union.
This means any fundamental change in the relationship is likely to have to wait until after a general election, expected by 2029.
The UK Prime Minister acknowledged that freedom of movement had very significant challenges associated with it.
But he suggested that European migration had changed in the past decade.
Revolving door migration where people would come and then go back is different.
He will meet EU leaders at a summit in Brussels on 20 November.
