Fi has launched a major price adjustment for its line of satellite-enabled pet tracking devices, effectively slashing prices by nearly a third for a brief period. The promotion runs through this weekend, ending on October 25, and applies to several high-end models that utilize advanced connectivity to monitor wandering cats and dogs.

To claim the reduced rate, customers must enter the code SCARY during the checkout process. The deal covers specific hardware, including the Fi Ultra GPS unit. With the discount applied, the price of the Ultra drops to $209.30. This figure matches the cost when the device first entered the market, suggesting the company is moving to clear inventory or stimulate demand after a period of higher pricing.

The hardware itself is built to withstand harsh conditions, boasting an IP68 rating that allows for full submersion in saltwater. Power lasts for up to five days on a single charge, a duration that fluctuates based on the animal's activity level. The device attaches to standard collars or harnesses and uses a hybrid of LTE, GPS, and Starlink satellite signals to pinpoint location, even in areas lacking cellular service. It also features haptic and audio alerts to help owners locate their pets. Fi positions this as the first tracker to integrate T-Satellite with Starlink, GPS, and LTE technologies.

Earlier tests conducted in a remote section of South Carolina highlighted both strengths and limitations. While location data remained accurate, the system updated positions every two to three minutes, a delay that might frustrate owners of very fast runners. Battery performance also dipped significantly when Lost Mode was activated, reducing the full charge duration to roughly two days. The physical size of the unit suggests it is best suited for larger canines rather than small breeds.

Hardware alone is not enough to access all features, as an active subscription is mandatory. Fi offers discounted rates for the initial billing period, with options for six-month, one-year, and two-year terms. The one-year plan is priced at $99 for the first year and $189 for subsequent renewals. It is important to note that these services are limited to the United States, and satellite coverage does not extend to Alaska.

Beyond pet tech, other electronics and toys are seeing price reductions this weekend. Amazon is selling a physical copy of the Nintendo Switch 2 title Kirby Air Riders for $48.99, a drop from its standard $69.99 price. The game is noted for its deep customization options for characters and karts. Additionally, the JLab JBuds Talk USB-C microphone is available for $24.99, far below its typical retail range of $50 to $100. It offers high-quality audio recording with four directional modes. Finally, the Lego Star Wars Grogu set is listed at $103.99, its lowest price to date, featuring 1,200 pieces and swappable facial expressions.
