Kevin Lee sold out his new Dallas restaurant on its opening day, marking the end of a years-long transition from mixed martial arts to the food industry. The former UFC fighter launched Braised at 1499 Regal Row in the city's Uptown district. The venue served its first public customers at noon on November 1. The menu focused on slow-cooked proteins, specifically short ribs and oxtail.

The concept began with a stall at a Miami farmers market. It evolved into a food truck before securing a permanent location in Dallas. Lee has hosted pop-up events at his younger brother Keith Lee's annual food festival in New Orleans. Keith Lee called Braised one of the best-selling vendors at this year's event. The stand sold out of short ribs and pot pies during that festival.

Keith Lee, a well-known food critic who also has a background in professional fighting, actively promoted the new restaurant on social media. He shared videos explaining that the kitchen staff is small. Keith Lee stated that his brother is hard-headed and does not employ a large team. He asked customers to bring patience and an appetite. He described the opening as his way of showing pride in his older brother's work.

Both brothers cite their upbringing for their shared interest in food. Their father cooked well, and family dinners were a central tradition in their household. Kevin Lee said he is excited to restart the business and get to know the Dallas community. He hopes to build a strong local presence for the brand.

The grand opening included a special offer for the first 30 customers, who received free meals. Keith Lee told Dallas news sources that he believes Braised will become one of the top restaurants in the city. He expressed strong confidence in his brother's culinary skills and work ethic.

The restaurant remains open for business at its Suite 205 location. The team continues to prepare all kitchen items from scratch. Customers can expect a limited menu driven by the availability of specific cuts of meat. The small staff size means service may be slower than at larger dining establishments.
