The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy has generated a sprawling online community, but one participant has now become a suspect in her own right. Shawna Gramkow, a 46-year-old woman from Florida, has been charged with wiretapping by police in Scituate, Massachusetts. She is scheduled to appear in court there this month.
The charge stems from an audio recording of Christopher Clancy, the father of the accused killer, Patrick Clancy. Scituate police reported that Christopher Clancy contacted them after seeing an Instagram post by Gramkow. The post claimed she had found his number in evidence from the trial. It included audio where he appeared to be speaking about his older son, Brian. Police noted that much of the call was intelligible and that Christopher Clancy recognized his own voice.
Gramkow has kept her digital footprint visible since the charge was announced. She maintains active accounts on Instagram and Facebook, where she has approximately 56,000 and 51,000 followers, respectively. Her feed is dedicated to the Clancy case, often featuring claims that Patrick Clancy was responsible for the deaths of his children, a theory she has pushed despite a lack of evidence.
In a post dated October 28, she addressed the new charge directly. She wrote, "The allegations are false. And easy to prove. And yes I got all the 'Dirty Deets' ;)." By Sunday, she had shared a video with the caption, "They wanted to silence me, instead .. My voice just got amplified 10 fold."
She has also turned to her followers for financial support. Recent posts include a link to her CashApp for direct donations and a GoFundMe page. As of Sunday night, that fundraiser had raised $23,185 toward a $28,000 goal. She did not respond to a request for comment on Sunday.
The wiretapping charge adds a new layer to the high-profile case. Lindsay Clancy, a Wallingford native, faces three counts of first-degree murder for the January 24, 2023, deaths of her three children: Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months. She is accused of strangling them while Patrick Clancy was out of their Duxbury home. Her defense argues she suffered from postpartum psychosis, while the prosecution claims she planned the killings.
Clancy’s first trial ended in a mistrial in early September after the jury deadlocked. Her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is currently seeking to have the charges dismissed. Gramkow’s continued posting has kept the debate online, even as she prepares for her own court appearance in Massachusetts.
