The Israel Electric Corporation will replace power cables beneath Highway 20 and adjacent railroad tracks, requiring the closure of major sections of the Ayalon Highway starting late Thursday. The utility company's work schedule dictates a two-phase shutdown that will force drivers to navigate alternative routes across central Israel for several days.

The initial phase begins at 11:30 p.m. Thursday and concludes at 4:00 p.m. Friday. Northbound traffic will be halted between the Glilot East and Shiv'at HaKochavim interchanges near Herzliya. Southbound lanes will close between the HaMa'apilim and Glilot East interchanges, with multiple entrance ramps blocked during the operation.

A second round of closures is scheduled for Saturday at 11:00 p.m. through Sunday at 5:00 a.m. Authorities expect to divert traffic onto Highways 2, 4, and 5 during these periods. The Ayalon Highways Company is coordinating with the Israel Police and security forces to manage the flow of vehicles.

Rail and bus services will face parallel disruptions due to related electrical infrastructure projects. Israel Railways announced that service between Tel Aviv and Herzliya will be affected beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday. The carrier will deploy free shuttle buses to transport some passengers during the work, which involves safety upgrades near Tel Baruch.

In the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, crews will close a segment of Arlozorov Street to eastbound traffic from 10:00 p.m. Thursday for approximately five days. This work, located between Weizmann Street and Namir Road, will alter local bus routes and stops. Additional nighttime closures at La Guardia Junction are set for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, affecting lines 299, 506, 632, 633, 111, 460, 462, and 500.

Construction for the Tel Aviv Light Rail's Purple Line will require overnight closures on Highway 461 between Savyon and Avia Junctions from Sunday through Tuesday. In Bnei Brak, Kahaneman Street will close nightly from Sunday through Thursday as workers relocate infrastructure for the M2 metro line. In Modi'in, part of Dam HaMaccabim Street will remain closed around the clock until November 13, impacting 18 Kavim bus routes.

Further south, Ashkelon and Sderot train stations will close on November 12 and 13 for infrastructure work in the Ashdod area. The Beersheba Center to Herzliya line will split into two separate sections, with Ashkelon to Binyamina trains terminating at Ashdod Station. Free replacement shuttles will operate until regular service resumes on the evening of November 14.
