North Texas venues have scheduled more than 200 distinct Halloween activities for the final week of October. The lineup includes free community festivals, restaurant promotions, and ticketed excursions across The Colony, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Dallas, and Fort Worth.

The season began ramping up earlier in the month with the opening of seasonal menus and decorations. Local organizers have concentrated the heaviest volume of events for the weekend of Oct. 24 through Oct. 26. Several venues extended their offerings into early November to accommodate travelers and residents who miss the traditional Oct. 31 deadline.

In The Colony, Stewart Creek Park hosts a free Family Fright Fest on Oct. 24. Truck Yard operates a Halloween party across all six Dallas-Fort Worth locations that same day. Frisco’s Frisco Square hosts Trick or Treat the Square from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 24, featuring horse-drawn wagon rides and carnival games. Heritage Halloween runs concurrently at the Frisco Heritage Center.

Plano’s R.I.P. Fest takes over the Downtown Plano Arts District and Haggard Park on Oct. 24. The event includes carnival rides and live performances. Legacy Hall hosts a free parade on Oct. 27 that features a screening of Hotel Transylvania. McKinney’s The Yard serves a seasonal menu through Oct. 31, including a Bobbing for Apples Old Fashioned.

The Fort Worth Zoo runs Boo at the Zoo from Oct. 24 through Oct. 26. Tickets include six treat coupons and access to a pumpkin patch. Klyde Warren Park in Dallas holds its sixth-annual Trick-or-Treating in the Park on Oct. 24. The event includes an outdoor screening of Toy Story 5 and book giveaways. Downtown Celina hosts Beware! of the Square on Oct. 24 with more than 60 market vendors.

The Spookeasy pop-up at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa pours themed cocktails through Nov. 1. The Stix Icehouse in McKinney hosts a Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 29. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad runs the Witches' Brew Train on Oct. 30 and 31. The two-hour excursion in vintage 1920s coaches features Texas craft beer and spooky entertainment.

Events conclude on Oct. 31, except for the Spookeasy pop-up which remains open through Nov. 1. The Fort Worth Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo ends on Oct. 26. Most family-oriented festivals operate on weekends to maximize attendance. Adults-only options, such as the Grapevine train and specific cocktail menus, target the evening of Oct. 30 and 31.
